NASHIA in collaboration with LHSS conducts a training workshop on Referral and Claims Management for Healthcare Providers in Nasarawa

In collaboration with Local Health System Sustainability (LHSS) Project, the Nasarawa State Health Insurance Agency (NASHIA) has conducted a training workshop on referral and claims management for Healthcare service providers accross the 13 Local Local Government Areas of the State. 

The training is part of the capacity building process of the agency to build capacity of healthcare providers on promptly referral of patients and effective management and processing of claims. 
 
Underscoring the significance of the training, the agency's Director of Health Services Standard and Quality Control, Pharmacist Kaki Maikudi Kudu said the training was conducted to broaden their knowledge and understanding on referrals and claims management Processing in order to ensure prompt referrals from primary service providers to secondary/tertiary service providers when the need arises.

While commending the agency for the training, the participants assured the agency of utilising the lessons of the training towards ensuring timely referral of patients. 

The training was conducted accross all the clusters in the state. The Obi Cluster covered Awe, Obi, and Keana; the Akwanga Cluster covered Akwanga, Nasarawa Eggon, and Wamba; the Keffi Cluster covered Keffi and Kokona; the Karu Cluster covered Karu; the Nasarawa Cluster covered Nasarawa, and the Toto; and the Lafia Cluster, which has two clusters, covered Doma and its PHCs and Lafia and its PHCs.
