Andoma of Doma Alhaji Aliyu Ogah Onawo made this known while playing host to the leadership of the state health insurance Agency who paid him a sensitisation visit at his palace in Doma on Tuesday 15th/ 3/2022


Underscoring the  importance of health insurance scheme, the Andoma of Doma said the program will give financial protection to the less previlaged people  in the society.


He called on NASHIA to give accreditation to credible health facilities that would be able to provide effective health care service to the people. 


The Andoma of Doma also encouraged people of the State to key into the scheme and called for its expansion to cover the entire population especially people at the grass root.


On the essence of the visit, the Executive Secretary of the Nasarawa state Health Insurance Agency Dr. Gaza Gwamna said 3000 people are  benefiting from the Equity and  BHCPF programmes of the scheme supported by the State government and the federal government respectively. He added that the  government has made provisions to add over 1400 vulnerable people in Doma local government Area into the programme aimed at achieving universal health coverage.


Shortly after, a stakeholders meeting was held at Ogmini PHC in Doma where they were encouraged to report any abnormalities that will hinder them from accessing the right health care services at the hospitals of their choices to the appropriate channels for necessary action.


Appreciating NASHIA for the engagement meeting Health Secretary Doma LGC, Mr. Uye omale and OIC PHC Rujubi  Akoza James as well as Mohammed Mohammed Mai Kifi on behalf of enrollees said the meeting was timely as many of them were educated on the basic minimum package of health services, operations of  the programme and assured the Agency that they will mobilize people to key into the scheme because of its segnificance.


Participants at the meeting comprised of the representatives of OICs of the registered PHCs, enrolled beneficiaries and leadership of some relevant associations in Doma local government Area.
