Dr Gaza Gwamna reaffirms NASHIA 's Commitment towards ensuring enrollees receive high-quality medical care
Executive Secretary of the Nasarawa State Health Insurance Agency (NASHIA), Dr Gaza Gwamna has reaffirmed the agency's commitment to ensuring that the enrollees receive high-quality medical care with the goal of achieving Universal Health Coverage.
Dr Gaza gave the assurance on Tuesday during the agency's sensitization and awareness campaign for Local Government and Development Area Civil Servants held at the Karu Local Government and Karshi Development Area Secretariats.
Dr Gaza Gwamna who doubles as the Chairman Forum of Chief Executive Officers of State Social Health Insurance Agencies in Nigeria was represented at the occasion by the Agency's Acting Director of Marketing and Business Development, Hadiza Dogara (Mrs), stated that the purpose of the scheme was to shield people from financial hardship while obtaining medical care.
While imploring workers at the Local Government and Development Area levels to key into the scheme in order to benefit from the program, Gaza said the goal of the sensitization event organized to achieve Sustainable Development Goal 3 target 8 which aimed at achieving Universal Health Coverage.
Thus, workers at the Local Government have backed the Nasarawa State government
effort to develop a Health Insurance Program with the goal of reaching Universal Health Coverage.
During a meeting to raise awareness by the agency on Tuesday at the Karu Local Government and Karshi Development Area Secretariats some Local Government workers expressed their opinions in this manner.
Ibrahim Umar Gurku and Bitrus Yarima expressed appreciation for the NASHIA, saying that the sensitization visit had increased their awareness of the Health Insurance program, just as they also vowed to spread the word about the program's advantages to other individuals, particularly those in the informal sector.
The state Health insurance program's management is making a point of visiting local
government workers to raise awareness of the value of health insurance and to
get the agency ready to start enrolling people in the local government areas.
